题目:Nonlinear Dynamics of Relativistic Strings/membranes
摘要:This talk concerns the motion of relativistic strings/membranes in physical space-times, this kind of motion is related to the theory of extremal surfaces/submanifolds in these space-times. We first study the equations for relativistic strings/membranes moving in these space-time and then analyze some interesting properties enjoyed by these equations. Based on this, we prove some global existence theorems on smooth solutions. We also describe some of the discoveries that have been done about it, and some unresolved questions.

简介:浙江大学求是特聘教授。先后在复旦大学、日本学术振兴会、美国哈佛大学等著名科研单位做博士后研究;作为高级访问学者访问过理论物理国际中心(意大利)、美国Courant数学科学研究所、德国Albert Einstein Institute等研究机构。曾任上海交通大学数学系应用数学首席教授、香港城市大学特约教授、国防科技大学兼职教授。在Comm. Math. Phys.,Tran. AMS,Physica D,Comm. PDE, J. Diff. Equs.等学术刊物上发表论文70余篇,由日本数学会出版英文专著1部。曾获上海市青年科技启明星计划项目和2005年教育部“新世纪优秀人才支持计划”项目,主持国家自然科学基金多项。
